Letter, 1856 Jun 2.

Arriving in San Francisco at the time of the funeral of James King of William, Mrs. Julia Bourne describes the city in mourning and the scene of the hanging of his murderer and that of Charles Cora, the murderer of Colonel Richardson. The remainder of the letter describes Stockton and life there, with some comments on ladies' fashions.
